More information about Bridlington CYP: Bridlington CYP is a registered Charity operating out of a Sports Centre on the Havenfield Estate. Our ethos is to bring sports, activities and opportunities to all and ensuring cost is not a barrier to participation for anyone. We currently have over 3500 weekly users across a variety of sports including Football, Boxing, Netball, Dance, Karate, Badminton along with a range of community groups. All profits made by Bridlington CYP are re invested into the facility and the community.

Myself and James Precious (both Bridlington lads) are taking part in the Summer “fan dance” on the 21st June in order to raise funds for the club.

More about the Fan Dance -

The Fan Dance is a 24km route march in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales, and is a renowned test for potential recruits in the UK Special Forces, particularly the SAS and SBS. It's a TAB (Tactical Advance to Battle) event, replicating the movement of small teams to a theatre of operations all whilst carrying around 40lbs of kit and consumables. The fan dance is considered a significant physical and mental challenge and requires a serious amount of grit and determination to complete.

The route comprises an ascent and decent of Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons(886m), a 4 mile tab to the halfway point and then a return the same way before reascending the fan up the notorious "Jacob's Ladder," a very steep and gruelling section of the course.

Having both boxed for Bridlington CYP at reasonably high levels myself and James feel it’s only right that we give something back, anything that you can contribute towards our cause will be very much appreciated and will go towards purchasing a new club mini bus assisting the club with sporting events up and down the country.
