Raising money for bowel cancer research in memory of mum
Donation protected
My name is William, I’m the eldest of 3 brothers and this year we lost our mum to bowel cancer that then spread to the liver. Myself and all my family always said my mum would live forever cause she was active, unbelievably healthy from being a dietitian in the NHS, never smoked, never did drugs and hardly ever drank and yet at the end of January this year she found out she had terminal cancer after little to no symptoms. She was only 51 and yet she was diagnosed with this awful illness when only a month before she felt perfectly fine and now was told you have stage 4 cancer, there’s nothing we can do. In the span of 44 days she went from feeling normal to sadly passing away and I don’t want anyone else to have to loose anyone they love like this especially one of your parents when you still have so many more memories to make with them. As a result I will be donating the money from this all to Bowel Babe fund which is a bowel cancer charity set up by Dame Deborah James after her bowel cancer diagnosis when she was young. In addition I will be running 44 miles in one go on January 18th 2025 to represent the 44 days of fighting and determination my mum pulled together when she was battling this horrible disease. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated in this expensive and busy time of year even if you just share it it would be greatly appreciated.
