The cancer is back.... raising money to help Bentley
Donation protected
UPDATE:
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Kayla and Charlie Findling got the news that Bentley's cancer as returned. In November, Bentley's numbers began to drop so they watched them hoping it was just his body recovering from pneumonia and bronchitis. His numbers kept declining so they checked his bone marrow and saw that his Leukemia was indeed back.
Bentley was admitted into the hospital on Tuesday, January 21st to have his port put in, another bone marrow scan and to begin treatment. The doctors warned Kayla and Charlie that treatment would be more difficult and rougher this time around for Bentley.
Bentley will stay in the hospital for a month and then begin outpatient treatment, going back and forth from home to Mott. As cancer treatment goes, we know that hospital stays and long days are in Bentley's future while he is in treatment. Makes for a long two years!
Bentley had to tell his best friend that his cancer has returned and in the words of the most courageous kid I know, Bentley said: "If I beat it once, I can beat it again!"
He can't do it alone, and neither can mom and dad! If you know how much cancer treatment costs you know that it can financially break a family. The Findling family is now facing this expense for a second time. We need to help them and show them we support them just as much as we did the first time.
Please consider donating to help support Bentley, Kayla and Charlie in Bentley's journey to get once again beat cancer. It takes a village! Please be part of our village! Donate, share, talk about the GoFundMe and the Gift Card Fundraiser (details to come soon). All support is greatly appreciated!
A week ago one our very own kindergarten Sayre Shark students, Bentley Findling, became ill. Mom took him to the hospital and many tests were run. The tests revealed that Bentley had B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The four words a parent never wants to hear: "Your child has cancer." Bentley's mom left her job just before the pandemic hit in March in hopes of going back to school. With her son doing virtual learning and not able to find a job, it has been difficult to say the least. Mom's unemployment will run out in a few weeks and medical bills will be piling up; mom and Bentley could really use some help. Times are very tough for everyone and the holidays are right around the corner. A parent shouldn't have to worry about where the money for medical bills is going to come from while watching her child go through the fight of his life! Any help and support you are able to give Bentley and his mom would be greatly appreciated!
