In order for Ammaar to study BA Business Management in the UK as an international student - the fees itself are £15700, excluding the costs of attaining a visa, accommodation and flight. I’ve come on here in an attempt to try ease the financial load on Ammaar and his family - even a fraction of the goal could be a significant help. Ammaar is an 18yo from Saudi Arabia (non Saudi resident) and has received an unconditional offer from the University of Northampton to take BA business management full time for 3 years. His unwavering commitment and dedication has lead him here, having taken and passed his IELTS with a 7.0 average, as well as passing all his 12th grade CBSE exams. He’s written his own personal statement as well which I will include at the end of this statement. I hope you'll extend your understanding and support as he takes his first steps into this journey of his life - he truly is the most hardworking person I know not only academically but it extends to his support in his community with his family and 2 siblings, as well extended family and friends. It’d mean to much to him (and me) if you could spare anything at all.
His personal statement:
There is little that can equate to the satisfaction attained through constructing value out of seemingly nothing. This has become increasingly apparent to me through my development in the world of commerce, and it is what's escalated my infatuation in pursuing a business-related degree. Living in Saudi Arabia - where innovation and business development is continuously expanding - has led me to wonder about the workings behind a successful firm and the economy in which they function. Through shadowing the CEO of Nasr Al Khaleej, I gained a valuable insight into the world of marketing and product introduction strategies. My knowledge was broadened as I learnt about positioning a product effectively in a competitive market; I gained insights into attracting potential customers as well as crafting compelling value propositions, which I have implemented into my own marketing schemes. I advertised electric generators for the company at 10% commission and through this I was able to introduce what I had learnt, uploading the products with assuring, well-versed descriptions and high-quality professionally shot photos to build customer trust. Additionally, I incorporated attractive offers and deals to create a sense of urgency, encouraging potential buyers to make a purchase while strengthening brand interest. It was a defining experience which deepened my passion for the dynamic world of business. Having been introduced to concepts such as financial management in class, I enriched my knowledge further through listening to podcasts. Robert Kiyosaki’s ‘ESBI Concept’ within ‘Rich Dad Radio Show’ was particularly intriguing to me. What fascinated me the most was how it encourages you to liberate yourself from traditional routes of employment and instead scale up via alternate paths to financial freedom, such as being self-employed to owning a business. The model stresses the importance of building assets and investments to create passive income, challenging the mindset of “working for money” and instead making money work for you - a core principle within entrepreneurship. Following this, I found I was able to conclude a more definitive idea of the course and career I’d like to pursue. The idea of self-innovation and strategically building up something from nothing is something that really appeals to me, and I’d enjoy taking up this course to pursue that interest. My time at school has further equipped me with a strong foundation of transferable skills that have prepared me well for this course. Through taking up accountancy I’ve strengthened my IT skills, specifically using software such as Microsoft excel where I’ve learnt how to input and analyse data, evaluate performance, sales, and losses. Studying economics has further allowed me to refine my mathematical abilities; I’m able to interpret data and respond to a variety of problems, as well as regularly applying new formulae and use critical thinking to examine different situations. Business was my most favourable subject and has provided me with a broad range of practical, real-world experiences. One particularly valuable experience was a business expo hosted by my school; I had a stand selling custom made Albaik sandwiches, exploring marketing and customer service skills. Being able to take part in practical work was quite useful, the opportunity allowed me to explore marketing strategies while simultaneously strengthening my socialisation and team coordination abilities. Studying Arabic, English, and preparing for my IELTS has been extremely valuable too, as commerce is a global field. These skills have allowed me to acknowledge the international field of commerce and improve my ability to communicate effectively. Furthermore, assisting my father at Saudi Diesel Equipment, I helped prepare sales reports and utilised Excel, gaining practical experience in data management and analysing business performances, both sales and financial losses. Business involves not only practical skills, but also being able to evaluate performance metrics, which I learnt through that. Furthermore, creating my clothing brand website Fadwa has taught me useful skills too, such as marketing, planning, and brand perception. However, it’s also shown me that business is about constant innovation and new ideas, not everything will always conveniently be a success which isn’t necessarily bad. Instead, I’d say it’s made me more visionary and constantly striving to pursue new ideas whilst applying my knowledge attained through ideas before. I see this course as a vital bridge between my academic background and the business career I aspire to build, and I hope you’ll consider me to be a part of Northampton University.
