I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but my family and I are facing a situation we cannot handle alone.

Over the past several months, my mother has been battling Lupus along with many other illnesses that has taken a devastating toll on her health. She is now in a state of constant confusion and memory loss. She is physically here, but the person we knew is slipping away. Watching this happen has been heartbreaking beyond words.

Throughout her hospitalization and ongoing care, the hospital has provided necessary treatments, procedures, and support to keep her stable and comfortable. Unfortunately, her medical insurance has denied coverage for many of these services, leaving us with mounting medical bills we are struggling to keep up with. Despite using our savings and receiving what help we can from family, the financial burden continues to grow.

At this point, we are not only trying to manage current medical expenses, but we are also preparing for the possibility of future care needs and, if the worst comes, funeral and burial costs. No family should have to worry about finances while navigating something this painful, yet here we are.

Ahora sufre un estado de confusión constante y pérdida de memoria. Ella está físicamente aquí, pero la persona que conocíamos se está desvaneciendo. Durante su hospitalización y cuidados continuos, el hospital le ha brindado los tratamientos, procedimientos y el apoyo necesarios para mantenerla estable y cómoda.
