Raising money for a car with special alterations

Donation protected
Hey, I am Katrina Appleby and I am 32 years old. On December 23rd, 2011, I suffered from two strokes, which has left me paralyzed on the right side. Because of my stokes, I was diagnosed with a language disorder called Aphasia. Aphasia means I can’t express what I am going to say, but in my mind I can I say it. Expressing it takes 2-3 minutes because I want to use complete sentence structure. Even though I have some disabilities I’m still the same person. My stokes didn’t effect my intelligence. But, because of my stokes, I have not been able to drive a car. In May 2018, I passed the written exam for driving and the road test in Burlington, Vermont. Now, I need a specialized car and it is very expensive.
I would like to get some independence so that I can volunteer at the hospital or somewhere else to keep busy. I still have the same goals and ideas I had before. My goal is $10,000 for a specialized car and car parts needed.
Because I’m disabled I’m only getting a certain allotment every month, which covers my bills. I don’t have the capability to save for a vehicle. The vehicle I would need would have to have low mileage. The reason for this is they can not transfer the adjustments to another car. I will need to have adjustments done to the car to accommodate my disabilities. I would need a left foot accelerator and a suicude knob on the steering wheel.
It would mean so much to me to have some independence again. Any amount that you could send would be so appreciated. Thank you!!
