Bula Vinaka Family and Friends,

For those of you who do not yet know, our mum Mita who was visiting her parents in Sydney to help our grandfather as he has been unwell, suffered a stroke last weekend and is currently in hospital receiving treatment for a blood clot and large swelling of her brain, currently she is paralysed on her left side and has no movement in her left Arm and Leg. As Mita was visiting Australia she is not covered by Medicare (the Australian health system) and she does not have medical insurance. Our sister has flown over from New Zealand and is currently helping mum in the hospital as she needs a lot of care, over and above what the Hospital can offer.

The Hospital bills are expected to be around $30,000 dollars, as the hospital has quoted us $2838 per day whilst she is in Hospital, (and it has now nearly been a week) and we still have to transfer her to Queensland to stay with us for a couple of months as she recovers and undergoes more treatments and physio therapy, we are hoping the hospital will release her in the next week though we are waiting on the MRI results from today to get a better idea. We appreciate money is tight for everyone but if anyone can spare any amount of donation this will greatly help with her medical expenses. We pray for mums quick and full recovery as she undergoes more test and treatments, We thank you for your Prayers and Support.
