Our Story
I’m Chris Hobby, a Bournemouth resident and proud companion of Prince, my 26-year-old Eclectus parrot, and Georgey, his resilient 21-year-old Blue-fronted Amazon. Prince is family, with emerald feathers and a gentle spirit that captivates all.
His Facebook page facebook.com/profile.php?id=100081323831780 boasts fans galore, with photo from ITV Meridian Studios in 2012, where I was interviewed about presenting to our late Queen during her Diamond Jubilee ITV celebrations, and raising funds for various high profile charities likePop4Diabetes, invited by Dorset pop star Shane Board. Prince was also invited by the Bournemouth Rotary Club to appear at one of their fund raising events. Prince used to get invited to various charities fund raising events. But Prince and Georgey are in danger. A group has targeted us with vicious threats to their safety, mocking my parrots online in the past, heightening the peril. I’m raising £10,000 for legal action to stop them, and I need your help to keep these endangered parrots safe.Prince and Georgey’s Story
For 18 years, Prince has raised thousands for charities like Pop4Diabetes, every penny going directly to them. His charm shines on Bournemouth walks, where fans snap photos, enchanted by his uncaged, free-winged life. Georgey, a resilient Blue-fronted Amazon, shares his joyful spirit despite his challenges. Protected under CITES Appendix II and the UK’s Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, Eclectus and Amazon parrots are vulnerable (IUCN Red List), making their safety critical. These threats shatter my heart, as Prince and Georgey bring joy to so many. This group targets me but aims to hurt them, knowing it devastates me. Their disregard for animal welfare threatens my beloved parrots, and my health, strained by a 2020 heart attack due to stress, makes this fight urgent. I’m pursuing legal action in Bournemouth County Court, where I live, to avoid travel due to medical needs.Why It Matters

What the Funds Will Cover
Donations go to my solicitor’s trust account for: Legal Fees: £5,500 for two court applications (£275 each, £5,000 solicitor costs) by 6 August 2025.
Evidence Costs: £1,500 for gathering proof (e.g., social media screenshots, police reports).
Surplus funds will support Avian Angels Parrot Rescue facebook.com/groups/820532445132759, who’ve pledged to care for Prince and Georgey if needed.
