A Message from Benson’s – Supporting a Family Close to Our Hearts
Many of you may not be aware, but George D’Agostino - is currently facing an incredibly difficult battle. In July this year, George was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer at just 50 years of age. The diagnosis came as a devastating shock, especially given George’s fit and healthy lifestyle. Further testing revealed the cancer carries the BRAF variant, an aggressive and fast-mutating form that does not respond well to standard treatment.
Having known George and his wife Emma for many years, Joe at Clairville Homes, has reached out to Bensons to see how we can work together to support George and his family during this time. We are proud to stand alongside Clairville in this effort and hope to rally our communities to help make a meaningful difference.
Clairville Homes first met George and Emma in 2009 when they purchased their first home from them. It was a home they loved for well over a decade and a home in which they started their beautiful family. In recent years, unforeseen circumstances damaged George and Emma’s home, also resulting in the loss of their furniture and personal belongings. Together with their three teenage children—Oscar (16), Ava (14), and Isaac (12)—they moved in with George’s mum, where they have been living for the past two and a half years to facilitate the purchase of land with the intention of building their family’s forever home. It was at this time, George and Emma returned to Clairville, where they have spent the last 15 months meticulously preparing their home for construction, which has since commenced.
Continuing the Dream
Anyone who knows George can attest to how highly he is regarded. He’s genuine, thoughtful, respectful, loyal, hard-working, kind, and deeply devoted to his family and friends. He deserves every bit of lightness and hope we can bring to him in this immensely challenging time.
Despite the diagnosis, George and Emma have decided to continue building their dream home. The urgency of George’s health has placed a new focus on the project, and the goal is to complete the home as quickly as possible so George can enjoy precious moments there with Emma and the kids.
Before his diagnosis, George’s greatest ambition was to build a dream home for his family. Now, his determination is even stronger: to create a legacy—a home where Emma and their children can find comfort, stability, and cherished memories for years to come.
Clairville’s Commitment
Clairville Homes has pledged both financial and moral support to George and his family. In addition to making a direct donation, they have committed to facilitating items originally listed as ‘Client responsibilities’ in the contract—such as external pathways, fencing, and landscaping. Their goal is to ensure the D’Agostino family can move into a finished and welcoming home as soon as possible.
