Raising Funeral Expenses for my Father

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Alexis and I am Thuong Van Le's oldest daughter. I am saddened to be writing this. On April 12, 2020 at 11:02PM my dad's heart stopped beating for the third and final time. Most people do not survive past the first session of CPR and he did twice. Until the very end, my dad fought. For 18 days, my dad fought COVID-19 strong and hard with diabetes and asthma against him.

Thuong Van Le does not care for money, material possessions, or anything past praying for the world (very religious Buddhist man) and his family. Thuong was a refugee from Vietnam when he was about 12 and lost his mother in the journey to a better life. Since coming to America, he worked on building a family that he always dreamed of. My mom and dad were both each other's first loves for over 25 years. Together, they had four children with me being the eldest, Alexander 21, Alison 15, and Alisona 13. My sisters are both so young and my heart hurts for them because they did not have as much time with my father; however, I never think that there can be enough time with a man like him.

As a religious family, we prayed all day and night for him. We were praying for the gods to heal his body from the virus and to bring him back home to his family that misses him. Up until the very last heartbeat we prayed and believed, but the odds were against him from the beginning.

This death came to us so unexpected. My dad was only 49 years old. He was so young. He promised my mom on their last call that he would come home soon and go to temple to pray with her. He wanted to see Alisona graduate 8th grade this year and see my brother on his first internship. There was so much to say, so much left to do, and so much left to experience with my dad and just not any more time.

I am writing this to ask for support and help with what you can for my family during this time. If you are not able to donate that is okay, and thank you so much for reading about my dad. It means so much. Prayer is the most important thing for him right now, and we need to pray for him. My family will forever be grateful. My family was not able to spend our last moments with him due to the circumstances, and the last we were able to see him was weeks ago before he went on the ventilator for intensive treatment. Our only wish is to be able to afford to give my father a proper memorial to celebrate his bravery, selflessness, and unconditional love for life.
