Raising funds to support the Olund family

Hi Everyone,

My name is James MacKenzie and I'm creating this GoFundMe fundraiser for my friend Mike and his family.

At around 8am on Saturday 21st September, Mike left from his home for his weekly Saturday morning club ride. Barely 500m from his front door he was hit by a drunk driver.

Mike is now recovering in hospital in New Westminster. He has multiple inoperable fractures in his spine (which will need to heal on their own), a fractured right femur (in two places that needs surgery), a broken left ankle and hand and multiple lacerations on his face.

Unfortunately due to his breaks being on both sides of his body he's not going to be walking for a while. We expect he will be in the hospital for some time to come as he needs surgery and rehab.

He and his wife have three children and his wife must now take time off of work to commutute to New Westminster and care for Mike during his recovery.

We're looking to raise some funds for Mike and his family to help them during the next number of weeks and months while Mike fights to get back to full health.
