Raising funds to regain some independence- spinal injury :(
Donation protected
As some of you will know i recently sustained a few fractures in my spine along with a spinal cord injury as a result of a freak trampolining accident whilst at an adult gymnastics class.
I have been failed by different NHS services and dismissed to the point my symptoms suddenly got worse and lead to me being inpatient for 10 days before being discharged with no plan in place and problems with mobility (mainly my legs), since discharge mobility has worsened and i am now only able to stand for very short periods of time due to the weakness in my lower limbs and loss of feeling in my left leg and therefor haven’t been able to leave the house much.
I now rely on a wheelchair to leave the house however have had my independence stripped away from me as the wheelchair we have managed to source (temporary from a family member) relies on somebody to push me.
As a 22 year old that was independent and very active not so long along, this is all taking such a toll on my mental health as i can’t do simple things like go out with my dogs without relying on somebody to come with me to push me etc.
I am now waiting for a wheelchair assessment which could take 18 weeks, once i’ve had this i will be required to pay towards it.
My goal is to be able to get out and enjoy some time with my precious little dogs to pass some time whilst i await spinal surgery and rehabilitation:(
