As most of you know my mom has Parkinsons. Her mobility has progressivly gotten worse over the last few years. In the past if she would fall with my dads help she could get back up. It has gotten to the point that if she falls now she doesnt have enough strength to really help out and it is getting harder and harder for my dad to get her back up on his own. The last few times she has fallen my dad has had to call other people to come over to help him get her back up. We were talking with the home health nurse yesterday and he asked about a place where he could rent a Raizer II. She stated that she didnt think you could but they could rent a hoyer lift. With the size of a hoyer lift (pictured here so if you dont know what it is you can see the size) and the size and weird steps of my parents house it would never work. This Raizer lift fits into almost a camping chair size bag so would be easily portable around the house. My parents are the type of people who would be there for anyone if they needed help but yet are way to proud to ever ask for help on their own. We are trying to keep my mom home for as absolutely as long as possibly but not being able to help her get up when she falls is so hard. I feel awful even asking for help during this time of year, but she fell again today and had to lay there until my Aunt and Uncle could come over to help my dad get her back up. So it would be wonderful to get one ordered as soon as possible. I have attached a video of how it works. Thank you all so much!
