Raising funds to help with necessities
Donation protected
Hello, everyone!
My name is Casey. My fiancé, Max, and I work in an amazing restaurant in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He is the daytime kitchen manager. Last Friday, April 12, Max was in a horrible accident that left him with 2nd degree burns down his left arm, knee, back, and face. Our only options were to take him to get burn treatment at MUSC in Charleston or in Augusta during the Master’s. We chose MUSC.
Since arriving, he has had to have surgery to improve his healing where they protect the burn with cadaver skin. Unfortunately, there is still a possibility of needing more
procedures like skin grafts down the line. As I am writing this today on April 16, we still aren’t even sure when he will be discharged.
We are blessed that all medical bills are taken care of by Worker’s Comp. Unfortunately, there is still a dilemma: We recently discovered that they will only cover 2/3 of his wages he makes. He will be out of work for 2 months minimum if everything goes the way we HOPE. That means no more surgical procedures and perfect healing. We are applying for rental assistance and temporary unemployment for him, but receiving that aid can take weeks or months.
I also will have to miss work to take him to appointments here in Charleston. The Grand Strand doesn’t have doctors that specialize in burns like this.
We are raising the amount of funds that cover 1 month’s rent. These funds will be used to cover rent or any other necessities such as gas to Charleston, car payments, and food & water.
We are so thankful for any kind of help. That includes advice on resources that could help us at that time — support does not have to be monetary. I would be grateful if you could share this Gofundme to spread the word about our situation. It’s a very scary time, but we have a lot of hope right now.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank you all so much!
