Hi my name is Marissa, and my husband's name is Thomas. These past couple months have been extremely rough. I've had to miss a lot of work in the past couple of months, and  after a separate setback unrelated to this, our income just isnt enough to cover everything. After battling breast cancer that metastasized into lung cancer, my step mother, Monica, my father's wife who was like a mother to me, passed away on May 6th, 2023. My father, Martin, was devastated. They were just coming up on their 25th anniversary, and both of their birthdays.

 

A few days after Monica passed, my dad had a pre-scheduled surgery to have a cancerous tumour removed from his head. Since they lived in Ohio, and I am in Arizona, I got there a few days after his surgery. I took about a month off work and even though finances are tight, I was so blessed to have spent the last month of my dad's life with him. He had a double lung transplant in 2008, and his lungs were having a very hard time recovering from the surgery. My father took his last breath 2 days after I left.

   The money my dad left me to pay for the cremation expenses is in his bank account which they will not let me have access to. So I am just trying to raise enough money to have him cremated and get a death certificate..it pains me to know that he is still in the morgue waiting to be cremated. My father always did everything he could to help me and it's my turn now to be there for him. Also, if anyone knows of a cheaper option please reach out. Thanks so much, every little bit helps.
