Aspiring to Attend Warrior Assembly at DMC

I humbly ask for your financial support to attend the July 2023 Warrior Assembly at Drala Mountain Center in Colorado. My attendance would be the culmination of a journey through the Way of Shambhala Path that I began in 2010. The teachings on our intrinsic basic goodness changed the course of my life, gave me a sense that being in the world is workable, and made me realize that Shambhala was “home”.

Early on I realized how much volunteering and staffing programs are part of the path, and helped me live in the teachings (however imperfectly). Whether it was staffing or coordinating a Level I Training, or coordinating a program for a visiting teacher, it has always been a privilege to help create an uplifted and welcoming container that supports participants to relax and more deeply experience these precious teachings. Through the years, I have continued volunteering in center publicity, governance, website and database work, and staffing and coordination of programs, mostly with Santa Rosa Shambhala. Since 2022, I have provided support to the NorCal Region and Berkeley Shambhala, both some paid and volunteer time. In 2015 I completed the Shambhala Guide Training which greatly deepened my meditation practice and commitment, and I was part of a “3rd Sundays” team offering first-time meditation instruction to new people. Most recently, my husband and I have had the opportunity to provide coordination support for the hybrid Sacred Path Series co-presented by the Sonoma Shambhala and Berkeley Shambhala Centers. It was powerful to experience again the rich Sacred Path teachings years later, from the view of service, with our collective aspiration to create enlightened society, whether it be via the Zoom room or in-person at Sonoma Shambhala.

As an experiential retreat, Warrior Assembly will be a leap for me, an opportunity to immerse and go deeper into the teachings, and to help me wake up to my own confidence and wisdom. I aspire to more fully manifest what I have to give and be of benefit in our beautiful, sacred world.

The full cost of this program (nearly $3,300), including travel and course materials, is out of reach for our financial situation, and I deeply appreciate your consideration and support.
