Raising funds in Dan's memory for Royal Osteoporosis Society
On Thursday 5th September 2024, my brother-in-law, Daniel Player passed away aged just 26 unexpectedly due to complications centred around his life long disabilities including; Spondylocostal Dysostosis, Scoliosis, Restrictive Lung Disease and Osteoporosis.
Dan faced health challenges all of his life, often in pain on a daily basis and with frequent invasive surgeries and yet despite this, he was a determined, tenacious individual with a kind and gentle heart. Dan's life was taking a turn for the better more recently in terms of pain management, finding love with his girlfriend Sophie and completing his University Degree in Games Art in the summer after an arduous six years all whilst living independently before he passed away.
In his memory, I will be running my very first Marathon - Manchester Marathon which takes place on 27th April 2025. I spoke to Dan just a few weeks before he passed, as I had booked a place for the marathon and wanted to run for a charity on his behalf. His wish was for the proceeds to go to Royal Osteoporosis Society and every donation will help.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
