Raising funds for Tom Cook's Funeral

We are trying to raise money for a man and his family whom many of you know. Tom Cook has advanced pancreatic cancer that spread to his liver and stomach. The photo you see was taken in July, 2021.

Tom and Vicky Cook currently live in Texas, formally from South Lyon and Morrice, Michigan.

Tom is one of the most caring, giving individuals I think I have ever met. He married my sister Vicky, 21 years ago this coming December. Has helped her to raise her three children, they have adopted a son and have fostered another one as well and currently have 14 grandchildren ranging from 20 years to 2 years old.

He has held many titles, and helped many organizations throughout his lifetime:

• A lifelong Scout, currently a Scoutmaster with Troop 351 of Montgomery, Texas, he has traveled with the Scouts to Colorado many times, participated in parades and worked during Triathlons with the Scouts passing out water.

• As a member of the South Lyon Jaycees, he helped with the Haunted Houses and was on a board for the Amber Alert System.

• He was a coach for a youth football league in Whitmore Lake and started the same league in Morrice.

• A member of the MCUSBC - Montgomery County USBC - Silver Bowling Academy Coach in Time to Spare Bowling Alley in Conroe, Texas. Held Bowling Clinics every month featuring a specific skill or technique.

• Started the Montgomery High School Bowling Team and has been the Coach since.

• Currently co-owner of the Bowl Pin Pro Shop in the Time to Spare Bowling Alley in Conroe, Texas.

• He was a black belt.

• Played guitar in multiple bands and played at Harpo’s in Detroit in the 1980’s. as well as been a DJ for multiple events.

• Has helped friends and family in many ways - helping them move, helping to renovate a home, but most importantly by listening and giving advice when needed.

• Has held many fundraisers for the Veterans and children going through tough times.

• Loves nature, and animals especially his doxy "Red", is a Christian and Spiritual.

I am sure that I am missing something, please forgive me, but I think you can see a common thread here; Tom loves to be active, loves helping & teaching others – especially young adults & children.

Tom and Vicky have been going through tough times financially, with medical costs, funeral expenses, and household expenses. Vicky just called me and said that Tom passed this morning, Saturday, November 13th at 10:34 am Texas time.

Tom had no life insurance and had to cash in his retirement to make ends meet during the recession. Vicky is beside herself, trying to keep everything together but worrying about the future and expenses, especially keeping their home.

If everyone who has ever work with, taught by, had fun with him, please donate. HE had given so much of his time and energy helping everyone out, please help them out by donating and saying a prayer for Vicky and their family.
