Raising Funds for Title 1 School Classroom

Hello everyone! My name is Melody and I am a fourth-grade teacher at a Title 1* school in NYC seeking support in creating an equitable and nurturing classroom for my fourth graders this upcoming school year.

I am dedicated to providing my students with the best learning experiences possible and believe every child deserves access to quality educational experiences without being limited by financial barriers. Last year I was in a first-grade classroom where my veteran co-teacher already had the necessary supplies. However, this year I am transitioning into my own classroom which will be empty. We need everything from the absolute basics such as pencils and paper to larger projects such as a classroom library and art supplies.

My students should feel like there are no limits to what they can do. These resources will make a significant difference in their educational journey. It is my goal to make our classroom feel like home; a comfortable environment where both students and their families feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.

*Note: To qualify as a Title 1 school in NYS more than 40% of students must be from low-income families. Our school is currently at 61%.
