Supporting Erica's fight against cancer

Erica’s incredible gift makes everyone she meets feel special and appreciated. Whether it was a batch of homemade cookies, a handwritten card, or a smile you didn’t know you needed that day – Erica has touched so many lives, and we’re all the better for knowing her.

During a time that should be filled with so much joy- a new promotion, summer in Michigan paired with too much ice cream, Erica got word of a cancer diagnosis that will change her life forever. Hearing this news has broken the hearts of so many around her. We are processing and in shock, to say the least.

When we told Erica about the idea of a fundraiser, she was initially hesitant. She didn’t want to feel like she was taking a handout, but after looking at her increasing medical bills, she realized that this could be a massive help for her family.

A lot of these medical bills are not covered by insurance. Even with good insurance, there are a lot of costs that are not covered. This is a lot for one family to handle on their own.

Even during her own battle, she is passionate about raising awareness of colon cancer in young adults and the importance of advocating for ourselves. After her medical expenses are covered, any additional funds raised will be used to raise awareness for others.

Erica’s sister, Jess Holmgren (Ellis), has also set up a care page if anyone is interested in sending a meal to help. One of Erica’s next steps is to undergo surgery that requires nearly a week in the hospital and additional recovery time.

Every little bit is a tremendous help to her family. Thank you for your generosity – I know she has already been so thankful for her community.
