Raising funds for Shannon

On Friday, March 27, 2020 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Shannon Barmer was murdered on the streets of Baltimore City.  She was  sitting in her car, waiting on a friend when an argument began between young men that she didn't even know.  During the argument, an exchange of multiple gunshots occurred between these unknown individuals.  Bullets from one side of the street to the other were shot and Shannon was caught in the crossfire.  Shannon's vehicle was running at the time.  She was visible and yet her life was taken without regard or remorse.

Who was Shannon Barmer?  She was a 22 year old ray of sunshine to all who knew and loved her.  She loved children, she loved family, she loved life.  She had just begun a new job and was excited about the many blessings that were unfolding in her life.  She was a daughter, a sister, a aunt, a niece, a granddaughter, a cousin, a best friend, a old school-mate, and a beautiful soul.  Shannon touched the lives of so many people, especially children.  To think that she loved children so much, but will never have any of her own.  She will never get married or experience all of the beautiful cherished memories that she was destined to be a part of and to create.  On March 12, 2020, one of her last post on facebook was, "Literally everything that I've been asking for this year has been falling into my hands left and right,  2020 is mine believe me!  God is definitely doing his thing with me. (followed by emoji's of thankful/praying hands) THANK.......more"  She couldn't have imagined, neither could her loved ones, that in 2 weeks she would be gone.

Shannon, her parents, and siblings had just buried her grandmother and aunt, and now her parents and siblings are struggling to deal with the horrendous tragedy of making arrangements for their daughter and sister.  At the time of her murder, Shannon was driving her mother's vehicle.  When the sudden bullet exchange began, Shannon tried to quickly get away from the scene, but she didn't get far before being struck in the head by a stray bullet.  Her vehicle crashed into other unoccupied vehicles and was totaled.   Like many, Shannon's parents have already been affected tremendously by the current pandemic and although Shannon had a bright future ahead of herself, like most young people who are 22, she was just beginning.  Her parents desperately need the support of family, friends, and simply good hearted people.  Your contributions, no matter the amount, will make a difference for Shannon's parents as they struggle to make arrangements to lay their daughter to rest and to replace a much needed vehicle that was used for her sister who has special needs and her mother, who is a stroke survivor.

The death of a loved one is always hard, but losing your child is every parent's nightmare, regardless of their age.  But Shannon's life wasn't lost, it was ripped from her.  And now our world won't benefit from her light anymore.  We will never know the full measure of what her contribution to humanity would have become.  Please join us in surrounding her parents and siblings with love and support during their greatest time of need by helping to raise funds for Shannon.  She was left murdered in her car by a gunshot wound to her head on the streets of Baltimore City.  She died alone; treated like her life meant nothing.  With your help, Shannon will be honored with arrangements that she deserves. On behalf of Shannon and the Barmer family, Thank you.
