We have to be honest... the start of 2026 has been incredibly challenging for us. Our foster homes are full, adopters are few, and funds are very low. Unfortunately, this domino effect means we sometimes struggle to take on cats who desperately need help.
Oreo, a sweet black & white cat, was one of those cases. We almost weren’t able to take him in because we didn’t have a foster ready and couldn’t cover his care. Someone reached out to us as he had been wandering with what looked like a broken or fractured leg for a few weeks asking for our help. Thanks to finally securing a temporary foster, we were able to bring him to the vet and thankfully, his paw wasn’t broken.
Oreo’s issue was an infected nail and a damaged paw pad, likely caused by the harsh winter conditions. At around 2 years old, Oreo is FIV+ and not the friendliest, which suggests he was born outside but cared for and fed by some kind people along the way.
So far, we’ve spent money on X-rays, consultations, and blood work to determine his FIV status. In the coming weeks, he will also need to be neutered and vaccinated.
We’re raising funds to cover all of Oreo’s medical care and ensure he has a safe, comfortable place to recover. Please consider donating to help cats like Oreo get the second chance they deserve. Every dollar brings him closer to a healthier, happier life.
Thank you for supporting us and the cats who need us most.
