Hello, my name is Alyssa and I am trying to raise money to pay for a new prosthetic eye. Prosthetic eyes generally last 5-7 years and the one I have now is 18 years old, more than twice its lifespan. My current one no longer fits properly and I have to have a new one made. It is more than cosmetic; it is a medical necessity. I need this new eye.

This new eye will cost $4500 total and must be paid in full on the day of the appointment.

I can't go on living with an empty eye socket, nor am I going to go around wearing an eyepatch instead. I don't think people are aware of the psychological impact a new prosthetic has on the wearer. It's a part of me and I want to be able to look in the mirror and see a complete face. I was born blind in my left eye and it eventually had to be removed due to degeneration.

I do not have the income to afford this medical necessity, I'm living paycheck to paycheck to get by. If I tried to pay for this, I would literally go bankrupt. I can't afford to lose everything because of this. Please consider my case and donate so I can have a new eye. It would mean the world to me.

Update: my insurance has agreed to work with the prosthetic maker so I can get this covered. I am responsible now for 30% of the total cost while 70% would be covered by my insurance. I still don't have enough money raised to cover my portion of the cost. I need help from you so I can pay for this.

I also need assistance for more medical expenses. I am needing extensive dental work that I cannot afford but need. I need all the help I can get because it's critical that I get this necessary work done. I won't be able to eat properly without this dental procedure. Not to mention my emotional well being.
