My 40-year-old brother, Sebastian, suffered a stroke on May 22nd. Just three days later, he had to undergo a life-saving brain surgery due to brain swelling (decompressive craniotomy) The doctors prepared us for the worst... suggesting that the best we could hope for was that he would wake up from the induced coma.
After spending 20 days in intensive care, he fought off two serious infections: one in his lungs and another in his skin. His condition remained unstable for a long time, and the doctors told us to focus on each day as it came. As an ex-footballer, Sebastian has the fighting spirit, and every day, he continues to prove that to us!
At the moment, he is paralyzed on his left side. After a long period of silence, we can once again hear his voice, and after much waiting, he has started receiving proper neurological rehabilitation.
Sebastian is a loving father to three daughters and a devoted husband. He has always been an essential part of our family, always willing to help others (as a skilled builder, he could do almost anything).
Through this campaign, I hope to raise funds to cover the costs of renovating his home, making it accessible for his needs, as well as creating a space for his rehabilitation. These funds will also support the costs of private neurological rehabilitation and medical equipment that will be needed in his life.
I want to show him that, even in this difficult situation, he is not alone. While we don’t yet know the full extent of his awareness or prognosis, I want him to focus on his recovery, not worry about the financial situation.
Thank you so much for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making this journey easier for Sebastian and his family. Your generosity means more than words can express.
I will keep you updated on Sebastian’s progress and the use of the funds raised.
