Raising Funds for Negril Spay Neuter Clinics

Negril Spay Neuter Clinic 

As a struggling developing country, the plight of Negril’s animals is bleak.  Many are discarded in the street to fend for themselves having litter after litter, most of which starve. Some are considered nuisances and are stoned, chopped or poisoned.

Negril Spay Neuter Clinic operates a small Clinic in Negril, Jamaica. We are all volunteers, some local and some foreign. We receive no official funding and rely strictly on volunteers and donations. Our clinic provides surgeries, pays the veterinarians, and purchases supplies and medicine like anesthesia. We also purchase food for our many feeding stations. We are dedicated to providing the animals a fair chance at life.

Our clinic plays an important role in working towards reducing the number of unwanted, abused and abandoned animals in western Jamaica by implementing these desexing clinics.

Another service the clinic offers is education, especially to the children. We realize the key to achieving a society that values animals is through education. Teaching compassion to the children and allowing them to become part of the ‘team’ gets them involved. We always try to spread awareness about the need for sterilization and proper animal care.

The most important part of volunteering is to let people know that they do not have to continue to look away when they see cases of abuse and neglect. They can help! A small amount of money goes a long way here and we appreciate every little bit to further the cause.
