Islington Community Sports Academy/Islington Boxing Club are in desperate need to replace our punch bags, gloves, groin guards, headguards and pads – the essential "tools of our trade”. We have tried our utmost to avoid having to approach people for help, but sadly needs must. We recently had no option but to replace our minibuses (£30,000.00) due to the ULEZ ruling, alongside this, we have had to make major repairs to our building, an unforeseen expense of over £15,000.00. To pay for the new minibus and the repairs, we had to use funding that was put aside for our much-needed equipment. To try and recoup some of these funds, we have recently started a new fundraising campaign. As a Registered Charity our mission is to work with local young people and adults, particularly those that other organisations may find difficult to engage with; our mission being to equip them with the motivation, self-confidence, and networks they need to change their lives, through the vehicle of competitive sport and health and fitness activities. IBC is a club, whose aim is to try and keep boys and girls from all over London and further afield, off the streets, away from gangs, and into the gym to train and eventually box on behalf of the Club. We currently have a membership of 500 under 16 year olds, with the youngest starting at the age of five, with this increasing, week by week.

We are looking to raise at least £35,000.00 to replace all of the items - the punchbags alone (32 of them) come to £26,000.00. Our gloves, pads (£9,500.00) etc have a life span of approximately 18 months (if lucky) with the punchbags having an appropriate 8 year life span, so we are constantly trying to raise much needed funding. We would be extremely grateful for any donation, big or small, to help towards this fundraiser.
