Moka is more than just a rescue story. She is part of a family, a community, and a second chance that all of you made possible. She was once a tiny puppy who had been hit, abandoned, and left to be euthanized. But this community stepped in and gave her a chance to live. Because of you, she didn’t just survive… she found a home.

Her family has given her everything. Time, patience, long hikes, training, and unconditional love. She wasn’t the easiest dog, but she changed their lives in ways they never expected, even inspiring a new path working with animals.

Moka has been fighting since the very beginning. And now, she’s fighting again.

Last Friday, she was rushed to emergency after struggling to breathe. At the vet they had to drain 1.5 liters of fluid from around her lungs, an extremely dangerous amount. By Monday, the fluid had already started to come back. Not as much, which gives us hope, but enough to know that something serious may be happening.

Right now, we still don’t have answers and her family has already spent over $4,500 trying to save her, and the testing is not over. And the truth is… even though she has been adopted, she has never stopped being part of our family.

When we got the call, it didn’t feel like “someone else’s dog.” It felt like one of our own. Because she is so we are stepping in to support her family the same way this community once stepped in for her.

Moka is only 1 year and 6 months old. She has her whole life ahead of her. Now we fight for her.
