Hello Friends & Loved Ones of Katie Maringer!

This is Rachel Sanders & Stacy Joyce (aka Parker aka Hirsch), friends of Katie Maringer from her Rockford and Chicago/ISU days respectively.

Sadly, we're reaching out because, as you might have heard, Katie was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

This clearly sucks.

The good news is the prognosis is very good. They caught it early and her medical team is feeling very positive. Her double mastectomy is scheduled for March 11.

The crappy news is fighting cancer is overwhelming, exhausting, and expensive. Not only will this present unexpected medical bills, but Katie and her amazing, supportive husband Dave are both self-employed. Self-employed folks generally don't get paid time off. If they don't work, they don't get paid. And cancer treatment often requires a lot of time off.

We are hoping her village of friends and loved ones might be inclined to help alleviate some of this burden. If you know Katie, you know she is one of the most generous humans on the planet. We know you all have a "Katie is the best!" story and so we're sharing this Go Fund Me in the hopes we can come together and help her (and Dave and Otis) feel a little less stress and a whole lotta of love. We want them to focus on taking care of Katie's health and not medical bills and missed work.

Prayers, good vibes, and love are of course gratefully welcomed as well.
