Raising Funds for Coach Klara Doelle
Donation protected
On September 17th in Pembroke Nova Scotia, Klara lost her father, Meinhard Doelle, to a devastating bike accident. He was returning home to their cottage at the end of a ride when he was struck by a vehicle. His death leaves behind a big hole in Klara’s life, one that can never be replaced.
Meinhard was an environmental law professor and climate change scholar at Dalhousie University. His dedication to the environment was inspiring, but even more so was his commitment to a healthy lifestyle. On many occasions, Klara has described her dad as her biggest role model and was always quick to brag about his athletic accomplishments. Those of us who were fortunate enough to meet him at our Fun Run in March will remember his calm demeanour and impressive 46:30 10k!
Klara and her dad had plans to race the 70.3 IronMan Mont Tremblant together in June 2023; a challenge both Meinhard and Klara were passionately training for. Klara still plans to race the Tremblant 70.3 as well as the full Ironman in honour of her father’s memory.
Although we cannot take away Klara’s pain and grief, Team Triumph has created a fundraiser to help in her time of mourning. The money raised will help offset some of the costs and fees for her races so she can focus on training and crossing that finish line in memory of her father.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your donation. His full obituary can be found here:
