Raising funds for Climbing Out
Donation protected
About a year ago, I was thrown a curveball. Years of unprocessed trauma, continuous stress and further trauma from my job as a frontline police officer, along with life’s challenges all came crashing down on me. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD, burn out and more... On the outside, I kept it together. I smiled. I said I was fine. But behind closed doors, I was struggling to climb out of a deep hole.
Eventually I did the hardest thing for me, I asked for some help. This is when I met some incredible people. Mentors, leaders, and peers who were able to chip away at the walls I’d built. Some extended a hand, others passed me a ladder — and some just sat with me in my hole, offering me the space and tools to find my own way out.
One of the lifelines I was thrown was a programme with Climbing Out, a charity that’s been a true game-changer for me. They didn’t just offer me support; they gave me belief that I could heal, that I could find my way back to a life that felt like me again and offered me the tools to make it happen. Climbing Out offers a safe, supportive environment to help people get their lives back on track following life changing trauma.
Now, I’m asking for your help. Those who know me will understand that to take on some type of challenge to raise funds is all too easy and fun. But this, writing this down, sharing my story is the hardest thing for me to do. For that alone I am asking you to donate! However if you want to give me a challenge go ahead I’ll probably be keen to take it on!
I want to raise awareness and critical funds for Climbing Out so they can continue helping others like me — and so that more people have access to the lifelines I was fortunate enough to find. If all of my Social media friends donate £1 – that will cover my £500 target. It’s all I am asking, just £1!

Every day, emergency service workers, veterans, and everyday people struggle with mental health. Some don’t know where to turn. Others tragically feel like there’s no way out. But there is help — and it’s out there.
Please don’t ignore this. You may never know how your simple act of sharing or donating could make the difference in someone else’s life.
Together, we can help someone start their climb out.
