Brittany is 10 years old and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 18 months. Brittany’s family made the decision last May for Brittany to have a double hip osteotomy, muscle releases, and knee stapling. This was in hopes to give better range of motion and mobility. She had a month recovery at home and then a month therapy stay in the hospital. Her parents realized back in December that she was not making the progress that they would have hoped. They decided that she would benefit from injections to her muscles and to go back to the hospital for another intense rehab stay. Brittany was making remarkable progress and then the unthinkable happened. Brittany was transferring off a machine and fell resulting in a broken femur. She has been very fearful of falling every since surgery. Courtney and Seth would have never thought this would happen to her. This is definitely not the set back that they were ever anticipating.
At this point we have no idea how long she will be out of school or how long Courtney will be out of work taking care of her.
The 12U Red Crown Point Bulldogs baseball team is hoping any money raised will be used to help with any equipment, therapy or other expenses that we may need during this recovery process.
