RAISING FOR RENI

Hi everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Reni is a young teenage lad who was once full of energy, always out with his pals and living life like any other kid. He began suffering with persistent headaches that quickly became more severe. His mum — a close friend of mine — trusted her instincts when things didn’t feel right. After seeing the GP and then taking him to hospital, Reni went through numerous tests and received the devastating news that he had a brain tumour.

He was admitted to a specialist hospital where he underwent hours of brain surgery and multiple treatments. He spent months in hospital fighting hard, and although his recovery was slow, he was making progress.

Sadly, over the weekend his mum told me the heartbreaking news that Reni’s tumour has returned. He now has to begin another round of treatment to try to shrink the tumour, starting immediately and continuing into mid-December at least.

His mum has had to give up work to care for Reni and his younger brother full-time, and the financial strain on the family is huge. I am setting up this GoFundMe to try to support them through Christmas and the coming months, so they can focus solely on Reni without the added worry of money.

Any donation — big or small — will be truly appreciated and will make a real difference to this lovely family during an incredibly difficult time.
