Hello all, this is my good friend Raoul, he was my neighbor in Burkina Faso when I was in Peace Corps. He’s honest, intelligent, motivated, and a hard worker. He also attended a Peace Corps-led camp about entrepreneurialism and has been very motivated to start his own business.

He wants to start a chicken & pig operation, where he can sell the chickens, eggs, and pigs to the Loaga community. We are hoping to raise money so Raoul can start his business as he doesn’t have enough capital to do so right now. We are hoping to raise $700 within the next 2 months, which would be used to buy 8 pigs, 60 chickens, 2 hen houses, and a pigsty. Raoul hopes to employ 4 people once the business gets started and is making good revenue.

Currently we are not able to withdraw funds from GoFundMe in Burkina Faso. So I will be withdrawing funds here in the US and sending them to Raoul, most likely through Western Union unless we find a better option. For accountability and transparency, and as good practice for any future grants Raoul may receive, he will be keeping receipts for everything he buys and we will post them to the GoFundMe page.
