Raising Awareness, Support For My Spinal Cord Injury Journey

Donation protected
Hi Everyone, my name is Leah, and I am just 21 years old, my life changed in a way I could never have imagined. Twelve weeks ago, I suffered a spinal stroke - a rare type of spinal cord injury that has left me facing challenges I have never thought I would experience at this age. Before this, I was active independent, and full of plans for my future.

Overnight everything changed. A spinal stroke happens when blood flow to the spinal cord is interrupted, causing damage it affects movement, sensation, and independence. It is incredibly rare - especially in someone my age - and the recovery process is long, uncertain, and emotionally demanding.

The past twelve weeks have been a whirlwind of hospital stays, rehabilitation, and learning to navigate a new reality, Tasks that used to be simple now take enormous effort. Every day is about adapting, rebuilding strength, and staring hopeful despite the fear and frustration. I am sharing my story to raise awareness of spinal cord injuries and strokes. They can happen to anyone at any age, and the journey is often invisible to those who haven't lived it.

Your support, whether through donation's or simply sharing my page will help me continue my rehabilitation, access specialist care, and make my living space more accessible working my way back to independence.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your kindness, and for helping me spread awareness of this rare and life-altering condition.

Every bit of support means the world, thanks Leah.
