Raising Awareness for Miscarriage Assocation

As  you will know, I'm no runner.

However, I have decided to bite the bullet and do my very first 10k. I know 10k might not seem a lot to some people, but to me it is. Seeing as it is my first run, I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise money for a charity which is close to my heart – Miscarriage Association.

A charity that deserves a voice. Grief is perfectly normal and affects people is different ways. I remember voices being in my head telling me it was all my fault, questions were spinning round, what did I do wrong? Will I ever have a little one of my own? It mentally scarred me; I couldn’t even walk down the baby isle in a supermarket without a tear in my eye. People around me were falling pregnant, laughing, and enjoying life and I felt miserable. I felt like I was being punished, but for what?

You're not being oversensitive, it’s perfectly okay to have these moments. I want to raise awareness and try breaking down the wall of silence. Lean on family and friends for support, speak up and let people know you need them. Since being more open about my past, I have realised a lot more women have gone through similar situations. Although, it can mentally affect us, we need to remember men, family and friends will suffer the grief too.

We are all in this together, you are not alone. Everything will be ok!
