Raisin' for Rosie

Rose Zillmer, of the Chippewa Valley, is a mother of 3 and friend of many.  In July of 2018, Rose developed a cough and bronchitis type symptoms. A chest x-ray revealed a large mass in her chest near the center of her chest. While waiting for a consultation with a lung specialist, Rose’s heart went into Atrial fibrillation and she was hospitalized. After 5 days in the hospital, she was released and sent home to rest. Within days, Rose’s symptoms worsened and she was rushed back to the Emergency Room. After multiple scans and bronchoscopy, Rose and her family received devastating news. Rose was diagnosed with stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer. The tumor in her chest was so large, it was blocking her left airway so she was intubated and began radiation treatment in order to shrink the tumor. After 6 days of being on life support and receiving radiation, the tumor shrank enough for her to be able to breath on her own, however, further treatment is still needed.

Rose was a certified nursing assistant for over 20 years for the Chippewa County. She took care of many people over the years and now it’s our turn to take care of her. Until her hospitalization, Rose had been active and working. Due to her medical condition, Rose is no longer able to work. Consequently, Rose’s medical costs are mounting. Please consider donating. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
