Our team is seeking to raise funds to change the lives of 10 children.
Hundreds of patients travel many miles with the hope of being chosen for surgery. Last year, while in Guayaquil, Ecuador, we screened over 300 patients in two days. Running three operating rooms around the clock for seven days, close to 60 patients were fortunate enough to have surgeries. Unfortunately, 240 patients, mostly children, had to be turned away. Though the people are incredibly gracious when hearing they will not be chosen for surgery, it is still heart wrenching to turn these children away.
This year, as I prepare to return to Guayaquil for the third time with the Global Smiles team in March, I am partnering with my Medtronic team of sales and clinical professionals. We hope to utilize our network of friends, family, and co-workers to raise money that will allow Global Smiles to perform additional surgeries for the children of Ecuador. We have created the lofty goal of raising $12,000, of which will enable 10 more children to have surgery. The cost to perform these operations averages about $1,200 per child. We are determined to raise these funds in order to help the GSF team touch the lives of more children in need. Through our vast network, we hope to be able to spread the message to thousands of people. Please help with a donation. Any amount you give will make a difference in helping to change the lives of these children forever. Even if it is a little, give what you can. It will help make a difference.

It is hard, but deeply rewarding work for our volunteers. And wherever we are in the world, you are there with us. Because without your gifts, we cannot continue our work.
We take great pride in our efforts to reach as many people and touch as many lives as we can. Some patients drive, take buses, or even walk hundreds of miles to obtain treatment. Which is why our teams of expert volunteers deliver quality care in an attempt to provide the same outcomes we expect in the United States. Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, our services are always free of charge.
With your ongoing support, Global Smile Foundation can continue to provide this comprehensive care to patients in need all over the world. A simple donation of $10 will help. A donation of $25 will provide sutures for a cleft lip repair, a donation of $50 will pay for a post-surgical kit and $100 will provide all the surgical supplies needed for one child.
It’s important that you know that GSF is one of the most efficient and effective not-for-profits. All of the medical professionals on our missions donate their time. All of the supplies that we take on our missions are either donated or bought at a tremendous discount. With only 2 full time employees and an industry low overhead, 97 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to supporting our surgical missions. We take great pride in assuring you that every dollar donated will immediately go to work helping our underserved patients around the world.
