Raise Your Hands 1000km Challenge

On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2025, the Lyttelton House girls, alongside their families and friends, will be taking on a huge challenge: to run, walk, and cycle a collective 1000km over the course of the weekend. We’re doing this to raise money and awareness for an amazing charity called Raise Your Hands, which supports some of the UK’s most impactful small charities working with vulnerable children and young people.

All our activity will be tracked and recorded on Strava, so you’ll be able to follow our progress throughout the week as we push towards the 1000km target!

Why Raise Your Hands?

There are hundreds of small charities across the UK doing life-changing work with children and young people—work that often goes unseen and underfunded.

Raise Your Hands exists to support 12 exceptional, under-the-radar charities that focus on helping young people facing some of life’s toughest challenges. These include:

Providing therapy on animal-assisted farms for young people healing from trauma.
Offering safe spaces, mentorship, and education to those at risk of gang involvement or exploitation.
Helping children and teens in the care system, with learning disabilities, or mental health struggles to build confidence and brighter futures.
Supporting children with a parent in prison, by sending recorded bedtime stories home so families can stay connected.

What makes Raise Your Hands different is their commitment to small, grassroots charities that often get overlooked by major funders. These organisations are experts in what they do and deeply connected to the communities they serve, but they operate in what Raise Your Hands calls a “funding black spot.” We're stepping in to help change that.

Our Goal

We’re aiming to raise £2,000 to support Raise Your Hands and the inspiring charities they champion.

Your donation will help fund critical support for children and young people across the UK. Whether it’s providing a safe haven, emotional healing, education, or simply a sense of hope, your contribution will go directly to where it’s needed most.

How You Can Support Us

Donate: Any amount, large or small, makes a real difference.
Share: Please pass on this page to friends, family, and colleagues.
Follow our progress: All kilometres covered will be tracked on Strava, so you can cheer us on as we reach our 1000km goal!
We’re incredibly proud to be taking this on as a house community, and even more proud to be supporting a cause that’s truly making an impact.

Thank you so much for your support.

With love,
The Lyttelton House Girls
