Raise the Roost

Hey Roosters, after 10 years of being in business, Roost has fallen on bad times. This store has been my passion and labor of love for a decade. I opened in 2008 when the economy was turned upside down in a building that had no viable retail businesses. The north side of Andersonville was barely developed. I had never owned a business and had no litmus as what to expect. When the business opened, I was managing a restaurant, working the shop, and bartending. I expanded into the corner space adjacent to my original location within a year and put up the iconic facade pictured in the profile. The store has been an integral part of the neighborhood. The past year, and especially over the winter months, the shop has been fiscally challenged. I have fallen behind in rent and have been scrambling and negotiating to keep the business afloat.  My plan is to downsize back to the original storefront and cut my overhead, as well as revive the brand. I have behaved like a duck in the past few months, appearing to float across the surface, but paddling like crazy underneath it. It has always been difficult for me to reach out for help or assistance, but if I don’t, this store I love and all the community that has built around it will no longer exist. I’m not giving up the fight, but I need some angel patrons and followers to help save the Roost. I have loved all of my loyal patrons, new followers, my canine friends that stop for treats, even just the people who pass by and say hello. Please help keep me a part of the community.
Warm Regards, Daniel Malone (ROOST)
