Raise the Roof for God's Little Army Homeless Ministry

Let’s Bless Samantha & David – God’s Little Army Homeless Ministry

My name is Christine Austin, and I grew up on the same street as Samantha Walters. My sisters and I were childhood friends with her kids, and though life eventually took us in different directions, we reconnected on Facebook. Seeing the way Samantha pours out love and care for others—especially the homeless—has deeply inspired me. Her faith, compassion, and quiet strength moved me to create this fundraiser on her behalf.

Samantha and David Walters never asked for help.
They’ve never fundraised.
They’ve never advertised.
They’ve just served—faithfully and quietly—for over 10 years.

Through God’s Little Army Homeless Ministry, Samantha has followed a calling placed on her heart: to feed, clothe, and love Amarillo’s homeless with dignity and compassion. What began with a desire to help mothers and children in need of food grew into a weekly mission to serve those who often go unseen—offering hot, home-cooked meals, clothing, shoes, coats, and hygiene products to men and women in need.

This ministry hasn’t been built on a platform, or supported by a large church network—it’s been built on faith, prayer, and personal sacrifice. And over time, a small community of people have come alongside them, donating items and lending support as they could. Samantha calls the people she serves “her kids”—and she gives them the very best she has, every time.

Now Their Home Needs Help!

After a recent storm, the roof on Samantha and David’s home began to leak severely. It’s no longer a simple repair—the entire roof must be replaced.

Roof replacement estimate: $10,000 – $10,037 (from two contractors).

David is now 78 years old and on full-time oxygen due to health issues. He’s no longer able to climb ladders or carry supplies. With a small fixed income and no safety net, they simply cannot afford to replace the roof—and yet they continue serving others with unwavering love.

Samantha never asked anyone for money.
She simply posted a prayer—asking God to make a way.

✨ Let’s Be That Answered Prayer

I created this fundraiser not because they asked—but because their faith and their love for others moved my heart. If their story touches you, too, please consider giving to help replace their roof and preserve the home that supports this beautiful ministry.

Even $5 makes a difference. And if you can’t give, please share.

“We come to You in the name of Jesus and ask You, Lord, to make a way where we see no way…” – Samantha Walters

Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus for Samantha and David—just as they’ve been for so many.

Let’s help protect their home.

Let’s stand behind God’s Little Army Homeless Ministry.
