Raise the Roof at Five Star Center

Five Star Senior Center’s Raise the Roof campaign aims to raise funding for the construction of a new garage to house our brand new 20-passenger lift bus and newer 28-passenger bus. The Center’s existing garage is too small to house these vehicles. Currently, the buses are parked on a lot across the street from Center leaving them exposed to the elements and to the risk of theft and vandalism.
The Center provides over 8,000 one-way trips annually to meet the medical, nutritional, shopping, and social needs of older adults and adults with disabilities in the city of St. Louis. Interruption in the transportation program due to vandalism or damage to our buses would greatly disrupt the lives of our clients who depend on us.
We have also been approached with the opportunity to develop an outdoor fitness park specifically designed for older adults. This fitness park is already backed by a generous donor, but its completion is contingent on the timely construction of the new garage buildout.
The goal is to begin construction as soon as possible with project completion late 2018.
