Raise Security Deposit, Application & Moving Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Anita Edgarian. I am 30 years old, I am a disabled homemaker and full-time mother. In the photo is my little family and myself. I have been out of work since I went on maternity leave in December of 2019. My fiancé was just recently working subcontracted jobs and then was working a temporary position over the Christmas holiday but work has slowed down (has actually come to a standstill currently). I am creating this GoFundMe in hopes to be able to raise the Security Deposit and Application Fees for an apartment. Our landlord has been illegally harassing us and has pursued an illegal eviction a few months ago regardless of this moratorium that is in order, which is an illegal offense on their end. We thought we had until the moratorium was lifted but on March 7, 2023 we were given a Notice to Vacate by the Sheriff. We need to vacate by this Sunday, March 12th. We do not want to end up in a shelter with our 3 year old daughter and our cat. We don’t have any friends or family that we can stay with or that can help us, which is why I’m turning to the community to please aid us with whatever you can and help aid us to raise enough money to move into a new apartment.
Our living conditions here have been poor since we moved in December of 2019. Our heater doesn’t work. The pipes are leaking and smell extremely foul. It is extremely roach infested. I have a huge phobia of roaches and I have gone through HECK mentally and emotionally having to live under these conditions unable to do anything about it.
We’ve linked with LA Family Housing and although they provide aid for Security Deposit/First and Last, I have had an extremely difficult time finding a CLEAN, SAFE, affordable and decent apartment that accepts Third Party Checks, therefore we need to pay out of pocket to be able to move, realistically, at this point.
With the car payment, insurance, phone bill etc. We’re not going to have enough money for moving costs either. We’re going to have to leave majority of our property because we can’t afford storage. The reason we need to raise a security deposit is because we wouldn’t be able to pay the upcoming months rent IN FULL and ON TIME, BUT with your help in raising this security deposit we will be able to make that happen and to raise some money to help with moving costs and to help us get back up on our feet. we just need a little help.
I’ve been trying to prepare my daughter for the move and when I told her we’re not going to be living here anymore she burst into tears saying “but i don’t want to leave.” It broke my heart. I don’t know how I would live with myself if I had to take my daughter to a shelter and have to explain to her why we are in the position we are in. How do you explain that to a 3 year old? It would truly mean the world to me to be able to raise this money to keep a roof over my family’s head.
If we can raise this money we would, of course, provide proof to all those who contributed that all of the donations have gone toward Security Deposit and Application Fee Costs and anything pertaining to our cause such as moving costs/storage if need be. I will update with receipts.
If you’ve gotten this far, Thank you so much. even for your time. We really appreciate it.
