Raise money to repair and protect our pitches!
Spende geschützt
As you may have seen from social media and the national and local press, yet again our beloved Meyrick Park has been vandalised by a group of travelling individuals.
Not only have they wrecked a valuable amenity for our town but they have destroyed thousands of pounds of investment that our club has poured into maintaining and improving the pitches and grass areas of Meyrick Park. Over the last two years Oakmeadians RFC have taken on responsibility for the pitch works at Meyrick Park from BCP and through active fundraising we have been able to do this. Now a group of people have raced their cars and skidded over our pitches, digging trenches into our work.
It has taken us over two years and thousands of pounds of investment to finally start to see an improvement in all the grass areas and especially in the playing and training surfaces which have now been ruined.
We are determined that we will re-build again and we thank those friends and benefactors who have already pledged some funds to enable us to do so.
This time we plan to not only repair the damage, before our playing season re-starts, but also make major security improvements to the Park to limit this happening again.
Oakmeadians RFC is entirely run by volunteers with all age groups of rugby from 4 years upwards and all of our income is generated by our members via fundraising and donations. Sadly we had not budgeted for this in our plans for 2025, so we are now asking for donations to help us to right this wrong.
So if you enjoy Meyrick Park, or you feel that you would like to help, then any donation, big or small, will be a great help.
