Raise money to purchase Robotics Kits
Donation protected
My name is Dyllan Mand, and I am a grade 12 student. I have been involved in our school's Robotics Club engaging in opportunities involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) since grade 8. I created a program for neurodiverse students in my school in grade 10. Through the program, the students have a chance to build a robot and compete in a competition with their peers. The program received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from parents, instructors and administrative staff. Subsequently, a plan was adopted to offer the program twice a year.
My current goal is to carry this program out into the community as it enables the participants to explore STEM, build relationships and provides them with an outlet. I have partnered with PALS Autism School and Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) who I will be running a non-profit program for in Spring, 2022. I have also contacted Autism B.C. who have offered to promote the program. To achieve this goal, I will be needing to purchase VEX IQ Kits. The goal is to purchase the classroom bundle to host the program at the facilities of PALS and PAFN. The bundle consists of the VEX Education Kits, fields and walls, game objects, parts posters, pin tools, classroom chargers and costs $5798 CDN. These kits will serve 10 participants or 20 if they are shared.
As I am under 18 years of age, my parents will be managing the funds. For more details, please visit my Instagram page @neurodiverserobotics
