Hi there my name is Donna and this is my fundraiser for my son’s school.

There are so many mile stones we get to celebrate as parents. Watching your little one take their first steps, eagerly waiting for the first words. Sleeping through the night, becoming potty and toilet trained.Seeing your child form friendships, ride a bike and starts school. Dreaming of how they will turn out and what they will achieve with their education and whatever their passion for life may bring.

For myself and many parents with kids with additional needs we have a different path of milestones to watch and wait for, that come far more spread out. Some are never met and that’s ok. But one thing I do know is when an opportunity strikes for our kids to have the same opportunity as everyone else, we grab it with the tightest grip with both hands and we won’t let go. We will celebrate it like we won gold at the olympics.

It’s my sons last year in primary and there has never been a leavers prom for year 6 in his school. I want to change that. I was once told it only takes one lone nut to start a revolution, well I am that lone nut.

I will be doing a 5k with Dylan ( god help me) to raise money for the most fabulous event I can provide.These beautiful children deserve to celebrate a milestone like everyone else. I have no idea what it costs, but we want mascots and a Photo Booth, food and props. For them to have a night to remember where they are celebrated for achieving what everyone else gets to achieve and celebrate.
