100 miles along the Cotswold Way, raising money for SMA

Hi!

My name is Stan, and I was born with a neuromuscular condition called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) which affects the muscle strength of my lower body. I am able to walk but tire relatively quickly, so use a wheelchair for longer distances. A little while ago, I tried an off-roading wheelchair called the Mountain Trike, which makes it easier for wheelchair users to access the great outdoors. Upon seeing a picture of me trying it out, a friend asked if I wanted to be involved in a walk to raise money for SMA (so of course I said yes!). SMA is a rare condition but it can have a huge influence on the lives of people affected by it.

The walk is being organised by a family who also have a son with SMA, and they set up a charity called Rally Round Rupert which aims to raise money for research into the condition. Any money raised will go directly to the charity. From June 21st-23rd, myself and 99 others will be going on a three day, 100 mile walk along the Cotswolds Way, to do just this and in the process, highlight the issues with accessing the great outdoors if you have mobility difficulties. I'm actually going to be using a Mountain Trike for the walk.

We would all appreciate it so much if you felt you could donate, and any donations made will positively impact the lives of people living with SMA, like Rupert or myself.

Thank you so much in advance, we are all so, so grateful for your donation!
