In July of 2025, our lives changed forever when Roman suffered a traumatic brain injury. Since that day, he has shown unbelievable strength, courage, and determination as he continues to recover.

The journey has been long and challenging, losing him several times in the first couple of days. They allowed me to lie with him during those days on a bed surrounded by a team of unbelievable people. I can’t do anything about the monster that nearly took my son but I made a promise that the monster would never be apart of his life again and that I would do everything in my power to give him the chance to see what a beautiful life he can have, filled with the love, compassion and consideration that he always showed to others.

If you want anything from life you have to go out and earn it, nothing is for free, but I cannot do this by myself. The amazing doctors, nurses, surgeons, cleaners, tea lady and everyone else in that hospital has showed me that sometimes we cannot do it all on our own, even if life has conditioned us that way. So now I’m reaching out to people I know and strangers alike to help me save my son and my two amazing, wonderful daughters their brother.

To be brought back from physical and mental critical illness is a tremendous journey that requires love, compassion and consideration, all the attributes of our Roman. I sat down with God and hope and told God to pray for a cup of tea and told hope to hope for one and I got up and made one.

Ahead of us are therapy sessions, and countless moments of both happiness and heartache. While we are endlessly grateful for the progress he’s made, recovery from a brain injury is a marathon, not a sprint. Roman still faces significant challenges ahead, including ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and support to help him regain his independence and build a brighter future.

We’re raising funds to help cover the many costs that come with long-term recovery- from therapy and medical equipment to potential educational or vocational programs that can help him reintegrate and thrive. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference and brings us one step closer to giving Roman the opportunities and quality of life he deserves.
