The road to recovery, and hospital debt.

Hi everyone, my name is Matthew Vasquez I currently live in queens, NY but unfortunately these days hospitals and rehabs are my second home. On August 16th, 2018 in Bloomingrove, NY. I was in a motorcycle accident which left me with a left tibia/fibula open bone fracture as well as a broken right hip. I was shortly put into an ambulance where they brought me to Police barracks in Monroe NY, I was airlifted to Westchester Medical.  I had a total of 3 surgeries.  First surgery was to stabilize my leg. Second surgery was to place hardware in my leg including using cement in place of my bone.  Third Surgery was to take my calf muscle and rotate a portion of it to the front of my leg as I completely lost my muscle in the location where I had my accident. I spent 18 days in Westchester Medical and a month in rehab. My transport from the hospital to rehab isn’t covered by insurance because its considered non-emergency.  That was $495 and each time I had to go back for appointments it was my responsibility to pay that. FINALLY, my fourth and final surgery was on December 6th, which was bone graph from my hip bone to place it on my leg . I am suffering not only in pain but with hospital fee's that will make me go bankrupt. Little did I know saving my life through and airlift would cost me $52,000 and not to mention the fees incurred that are my responsibility,  staying in the hospital and rehab.

I have received bills for over $357,000. My insurance covered a portion of these Bill's but the rest I just can’t afford.  This will leave me in debt for the rest of my life or I will have to claim bankruptcy. All I ask for is some support if I dont reach my goal it's ok I would take any help that I can. I will be posting up a video of my story as well.
