Hi, my name is Christina Lowman and I am asking for help with hospital bills and daily expenses. On Monday, December 6, 2021, my husband, Jeff Lowman had a heart attack. We spent 3 days at Onslow Memorial Hospital in ICU and on Thursday, December 9, 2021 he was transferred to Vidant in Greenville, NC. On Friday, December 10, 2021, he had a heart catherization. It showed he had a 80% blockage in his left artery coming off the heart. We later were told that it is the one that causes the widow maker. It also showed he had an area near or on his aorta that they couldn't explain. So on Sunday, December 12, 2021, we were told he was going to have open heart surgery to do a bypass on the blocked artery and to find out what the unexplained area is on his aorta. On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, he had open heart surgery. It lasted 7 hours. As his wife, it was one of the scariest times of my life. I felt helpless and afraid that when they stopped his heart, it wouldn't restart again. Thankfully, it restarted with no problem. The bypass was successful and the unexplained area was a hole below the aorta near the valve. They successfully repaired it with a patch. He spent 5 days in ICU. His blood pressure was an issue and they had to find a mixture of medicines that would lower it. Thankfully, on Monday, December 20, 2021, he finally got to come home. Now is when reality hits and knowing he will be out of work for at least 3 months, and he had no insurance; he was due to get insurance of January 1, 2022. We don't like to ask for help, but with all the hospital bills that will be coming in, and our daily expenses, it is going to be hard for us to make it. We appreciate any help we can get. Thank you in advance. This Christmas, all I could ask for was having Jeff alive, well, and at home. We just received the bill from just one set of doctors, and after all the discounts they can give, we still owe $3000.00. We received the bill from Vidant today 12/30/21, it was $122,000. This is not the bill for the anesthesiologist or other doctors involved. Please share this link with everyone you know. We hate asking for help, but right now we just don't know what else to do or how we are going to make it financially. Thank you all in advance.
