Raise money for DV by completing an Ironman Triathlon

Donation protected
In April of this year something both terrible happened to me. I was held captive in a home for days and almost murdered. After building the trust of my captor enough to gain his trust that I wouldn’t run if he left the house for a few minutes, he left. Petrified that this was only a test, and that he would be waiting down the road to find me and take me back and kill me I almost didn’t run. At the last moment possible I grabbed a jacket, my shoes and ran out the door across neighbouring properties and straight to the hospital a few blocks away. I was scared he would find me on the street on the way there, and so I hid in bushes and behind homes but thankfully I made it to safety. I was broken. I had multiple fractures in my chest cavity, foot, and nose (which now causes me breathing issues). Thankfully, my best friend paid for my flight across the country so I could be somewhere truly safe and begin to recover. Over the past few months I have made immense progress with my recovery, from barely being able to move my neck which my captor tried to break twice, to now beginning to train for a triathlon next year.
I have always been an athlete, involved in track and field from a young age and would love to see how far I can take it in this sport. However I am still held back physically due to persistent injuries as a result of what happened to me. I am starting this fundraiser in the hopes that people may be willing to donate so that I may afford the physical therapy I need to be able to perform at my best but also so that I can raise some money to donate to women’s shelters and domestic violence charities to help others who have gone through similar experiences.
I have already made so much progress alone, but am now asking for the support from others that will allow me to achieve my dreams while also helping others escaping bad situations and moving forward in their lives too.
I plan to donate 70% of the funds and 30% towards my recovery so that I am able to be physically fit enough to complete a 70.3 next summer.
I am so grateful to be alive, and so grateful to anyone who donates.
